How the IELTS Overall Band Score is Calculated

The IELTS Overall Band Score is the arithmetic mean of your four component scores: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. Each module carries equal weight (25%). To determine your final official band, IELTS uses an explicit rounding rule that rounds averages up or down to the nearest whole or half band:
